Jennet's Final Fan-fic

I awoke to find myself laying face down in the dirt. There was a sour taste in my mouth, my head felt like it had ripped apart and my body felt stiff, like I had slept for days.

     Where am I?

“Come one Mia, I said to myself, Remember.”

I fought through the fog in my head and remembered that a tornado had hit before I blacked out. Wow i’m thirsty I though feeling how dry my throat was. Luckily as I lifted my head off the ground, I found myself looking at a water bottle that was smeared with mud and dirt. Please contain water! My bones cracked as I reached out for it. I opened it and peered inside. It was empty. I was about to throw it away in irritation but then the ground started to shake and smoke stared to appear. From the distance I could see someone walking towards me.

“Help me” I croaked, My voice barely more than a whisper. As the stranger neared my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I couldn’t see his feet. Instead his legs seem to turn into smoke. I squinted my eyes to get a better look, but I still couldn’t see them.
Once he was in front of me, he knelt down so we were face to face. I had hoped it was just my imagination when looked and saw that the bottom of his legs seemed to end in smoke. But now after seeing him up close. He really wasn’t human. I didn’t utter a single word all I could do was stare at his eyes that were swirling with a million different colours.

“What do you want” He snapped, which me me break out of his spell.

     “W...What?” I managed to say.

The stranger looked at me in annoyance. “I said what did you want? Why did you summon me?”

I was completely confused. “Summon...” I said questioningly.

“Yes summon” He said, while making a sound of annoyance. He signaled to the empty water bottle in my hand. “You opened that didn’t you”

I looked at the bottle, still not understanding. I looked back up at him and giving him a confused look. His eyes widened and then he started laughing.

“Oh wow, You really don’t know what you’re holding do you” He said between laughs.

I brought my hand up to wipe away the mud. “Umm, a Evian water bottle” I said reading off the package. “And an empty one at that” I grumbled “Wished it was full again”

Suddenly it started to fill up. “Ahhh...” I screamed backing away from the bottle that fell to the ground and spilt everywhere.

“Ah seriously” The stranger clicked his tongue. “Why did you wish for it if you were just going to waste it” He said reaching out to pick up the bottle.

“Stop!” I shouted, completely spooked “Don’t move any closer”

He stopped and looked up at me with one eyebrow raised.

“What the hell are you” I said, my voice coming out an few octaves higher that usual. “And how did you just do that!”

“I’m Dijin” He said calmly “And its cause you wished it”

“What? Jin?” I said testing out the foreign word. “Wish? What the heck are you talking about!”

“Well like I said I’m Dijin, and I grant wishes to who ever summons me from the bottle”

“B... But you’re wearing normal clothes, and you’re not blue” I looked down at the bottle in my hands “And this is plastic, what kind of genie lives in a plastic water bottle.

His lips curled in disgust “I said I’m Dijin. D-I-J-I-N. Not some genie, we’re completely different and I didn’t exactly picked to be captured in a water bottle, or any type of bottle.”

“Wait people just go around capturing you” I said in amazement.

Rolling his eyes he replied “No of course not, and remove that glint from you eyes, its not fun being captured, i’m basically a slave”

“Oh..” I said looking around awkwardly feeling a bit guilty for what had just passed through my head “Well... then what now”

He snorts “You’re the one with my bottle” He says “You can wish for whatever you want”

“But don’t I only have 3 wishes...Oh no now 2” I say just remembering how I used up the first one.

“I told you I am not a Genie” He say exasperated  “You can have as many as you want, Now hurry up and tell me what you want, I don’t like to stand around and do nothing”

“Oh well then, can I have a glass of water please” I say

He throws me a look at the word please, but clicks his fingers and a glass of water appears in front of me.

“Wow” I say clapping my hands, not at all afraid this time. The water felt so good. It was ice cold going down my throat. Then my stomach started to rumble.

“Would you like something to eat too” He asks.

“Yes please!” I say excitedly “Give me a cheese pizza!” I say

He clicks his hands and it appears right in front of me. My mouth waters as I inhale the smell.

“Make it bigger than me!”

He clicks his fingers and expands right in front of me.

“Ok, now I also what a giant tub of ice cream” I say “And something soft to sit on, and a change of clothes!”

He clicks his fingers once again and everything I wished for appears, my clothes also change from old to new.

     Amazing.

“Can I go now” He asks, looking at me in disgust.

I look back at him, the guilt of using him was overpowered by the rush of excitement running through my veins at my new found power. “No, Not yet” I say “I still have a lot more to wish for”

Hassan's FanFiction Final

Hassan's FanFiction Final - The Lost Chronicles of Ragnarok Online (MMORPG)

The Beginning
In the beginning, we blended in. Those of us who possessed the curse either didn't know we possessed it, or were revered for what we could do. We lived normal lives, as normal beings. That of course, was in the beginning.
Now we live in fear of dying for what we are. But, I get ahead of myself. Let me first explain to you who, or rather, "what" we are. We were named the Thirds, those of whom had transcended the limits of the world. We possessed certain abilities that no mortal man should possess. A new "class" in a world that was acknowledged as balanced and fair.

There were those of us, myself included, that were respected for the powers we possess.
But it was with that respect, and the later betrayal, that I realised the duality of man. We were revered as long as we were of some service to them. I can't remember when the first execution occurred, but I remember the brutality of it.
I remember one trial vividly when one of the accused actually screamed that it was the Gods who betrayed him, and then spat at the Seconds. Without another word, he was hanged. There were some who were truly innocent I truly pity them and pray that their souls find rest.

Survival
There were those of us who escaped execution. Some were able to return to a semi-normal life, others, myself included, were branded and forced to wander the land in exile. Many of us didn't last long, succumbing to the violence of man or the ferocity of the elements.
Those of us who survived found that we were not welcome in many places. Our own villages and families turned us away. We had nowhere to go, no one to turn to. We were lost.

I had to do something, but I could not do it alone.
I travelled all across the lands, from Prontera to Morroc. I journeyed through the light forsaken land that was named Glast Heim; searching for those who would be willing to help. Few were found, one of which lived within the forest I chose as our stronghold, we trained to be Rune Knights.

The Guilds
As time slipped away, many new groups emerged which we would later remember as Third Classes. We divided into Rune Knight and Royal Guards, however it was not enough, we could not hide within the society as easily as before we were hunted faster then ever. I do not remember who created the first or which was the first but all I do remember is the new found power of the “Guilds”. The guilds did not care what guilds you were from, Minstrels, Sorcerers, Shadow Chasers, and many others were united under a Guild. New found power was found, secrets were shared and more techniques were discovered.

When word of the Guilds reached that of the ones who acted in the name of the Gods, new methods of killing us were found, our loved ones and our families who we had left to protect were tortured. I still remember hearing the screams being carried across the forest and echoing throughout the mountains.

We could no longer stand and watch. I could endure seeing friends I had grown up with taken away, being accused as Loki's Children and disposed of. This time, this time they had gone too far.
We had new power, new strength and new numbers. This was our reckoning, together as a Guild we would act.

The Emperium
We waged war against those who had shunned us out, exiling us from human kind, no we were no longer humans and then the unthinkable happened.
Our own brothers turned against us, promised to be purged of all criminal records for acts they had never committed and they were promised the greatest gift of all, a normal life. It was slaughter, never have I seen so many of my brethren fallen; all the innocent lives, I still wake up at night haunted by their screams and for a moment I forget which is reality.

It was I who found the Emperium, and because of the Emperium I will go down into our legends. At first I thought it was beautiful, never did I imagine the power locked within it. The Emperium enabled us to wield an over whelming power and access objects that would make us invincible in battle, we became the monsters they had accused us of being.

I can still remember terror in their eyes when they saw an army of the creatures that their mothers had used to scare them as children, attack them.

While the other guilds remained back watching, we waged war for our people, against our people. They had been trained and brainwashed by our enemy giving us a new reason to fight, our desire for freedom was greater then ever. This age will go down into history, the world shall hear our battle cries as we fight, for freedom.

The pages within are our story, a chronicle of the secret war fought by my kind, and our Path to Ragnarok...

Hassan's FanFiction 5 Links

Keeping in Touch
Loki and Thor (Gods from Norse Mythology) are using modern technology to have phone conversations. The irony is that current technology was not available during that time period however if it was, this is what it may be like.

The conversation was a bit hard to follow as the writer didn't make it very clear as to who was talking to whom. The writer did try to use humour and some of it was pretty entertaining.

Legend Of Janus
A fan fiction story about one of the playable classes, the Hunter Class, in the online game Ragnarok Online.  It is written as a stand-alone adventure of a Hunter. My fan fiction is also based off of this game.

The grammar and spelling is very appalling. Even though the writer warns us of this before hand, it's very difficult to read. The writer clashes modern day technology and slang in a mythological settings which does not work well at all. Over all, a fairly poorly done fan fiction.

Uncanny Young X-Men
A fan fiction about the younger X-men mutants of the Xavier Institute set in New York. The beginning introduces an unnamed woman, possibly a mutent. All you know is that she wields a sword and has long purple hair, leaving the reader to ponder over her identity.

A fairly short introductory first chapter but very well written. The dialogue is very well done and the action and encounters are very smooth. The writer also keeps you wanting a little more as the plot thickens near the end.

Mysterious survivor of the dead
A fan fiction about the anime series High School of the Dead. The world is ending as everyone is being infected by something and they are turning into Zombies. A group of high schoolers are trying to survive.

The story starts out very promising but as soon as the characters encounter each other, it completely breaks down. The dialogue is very unnatural and the physical abilities of the "new" character are too over the top. The story progresses along too conveniently and unlike the official stories, has absolutely no suspense. The idea behind the story was interesting but it needed more organisation.

Sheldon's Harem
A fan fiction based off the TV sitcom series, Big Bang Theory.
Amy Farrah Fowler tries to convince Dr. Sheldon Cooper to participate in a harem experiment. The entire fan fiction is just a dialogue between the two and very cleverly done. The dialogue between the characters is very authentic and has the same wit as the original TV series. A very nicely done fan fiction that was fun to read.

Jennet's Fan-fiction Draft

Well i've decided to do mine in the Weather Wardens World, imagined by Rachel Caine.

Here's one of the covers
of this 9 part series ---------------------->

Anyway, I haven't read this in a while so I might get some of the info wrong... hopefully it wont put off any one who has read it :)

Jennet's 5 Fan-fictions Links

Here are the 5 Fan-fictions I read and reviewed...
1)A Man Can Change - A Harry Potter Fan-fiction
Synopsis: This is a re-write of the last year of the Harry Potter books with only Hermonie and Draco as the main characters.
Critique: I’m not really a fan of HP fan-fictions(Even thought I loved the series) but because I was told by a friend that this one was good, I gave it a try. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this. The way the author wrote is really similar to JKR’s writing style so it felt like a spin-off of the real books and not just something a fan wrote. I also liked how the story stayed true to the books and any new objects or people added were believable enough to fit in. Also, after reading this, my view of Draco has changed. Usually he is portrayed as the villain, but in this case we get to see the reasons why he does what he does, and that shows him in a softer light.

2)White Rabbit - Alice in Wonderland Fan-fiction
Synopsis: When a person dies, they get given 3 choices; re-incarnation, moving on to heaven or a chance to live in Wonderland. In this story, we follow the lives of all 4 of the royal houses in Wonderland (Hearts, Spades, Clubs and Diamonds)
Critique:Besides from calling the world Wonderland and having reference to the White Rabbit, it doesn’t have much from the books. The way it was written was ok, I just didn’t like it when there were paragraphs filled with too many short sentences. It felt rushed and like they were trying to put random information all into one paragraph. Also because the point of views kept changing I found it hard to keep up with what was going on. Overall, I liked the idea of how people are given a choice after death, and that death isn’t just the end. But because I couldn’t get past the random view changes(Which I don’t think was intentional) I couldn’t fully enjoy the story.

3)False Memories - Charmed Fan-fiction
Synopsis: Set in the Charmed world after the episodes Chris-Crossed and Prince Charming when Chris appears from the future along with a future Leo.
Critique: Instantly you can tell that the random person from the future is the author rewritten into the show/series. Even thought some of the things said to move the story along quicker was direct, it didn’t rush the storyline. Usually when I was watching the series, I would get annoyed at how obvious some of the clues were to their problem. This story though made me very happy because everything was solved quicker when the author just solved the problems through the future character. Overall I enjoyed the story, it flowed well and was easy to read.
4)Watching Ugly Betty - Ugly Betty Fan-fiction
Synopsis: The Medes are sent the completed series of Ugly Betty (sent from a stranger known as S.H.) to watch, A month before Betty comes into their lives.
Critique: I liked the idea of showing characters their story, and watching their reactions. I’ve never heard of that being done before so I thought it was really interesting. Although it was a good idea, after a while it became a bit boring since not much really happened. The writing also wasn’t descriptive enough e.g, “Claire was happy,” “Daniel was sad.” Besides all that I did like it and luckily the author stops only after 11 Chapters, which is as much as they could have written without overdoing it.

5)You Are My Heart Of The Ocean - Percy Jackson/Titanic Cross-over
Synopisis: Annabeth, currently engaged to Luke, goes aboard the Titanic, where she then meets Percy.
Critique: At first, I thought that this was basically a re-write of Titanic. Which I found boring(I didn’t feel like re-reading/watching Titanic) The only thing that seemed different about it was that the characters were replaced with the ones from the Percy Jackson series. It took quite a long time for more supernatural events to occur(About chapter 11) Which at that point I started to pay a bit more attention. The story was interesting, I just didn’t find the characters believable in some parts. Since the Titanic was set during 1912, I expected the characters to think and act more old fashioned but in this, they acted too modern, which ruined it for me.

Kae's final fanfiction

here is my final fanfiction.

Note: as a back story, Dota is a game where you play as one of 90+ heroes in a Role playing, Real Time Strategy game. you Level Up and attack the opposing base using one of 3 predetermined paths, or you can Level up within the neutral zones. Gold gained per kill contributes towards items that you can buy and upgrade, some of which are mentioned in the story. as it is a 5v5 game, it involves a lot of strategy between players to combine different strengths, cover each others weaknesses, and support each other.

Rexxar, the Mok’nathal Beastmaster – an intelligent and dependable warrior, Jah’rakal thought. Jah’rakal knew that he had already faced death. The moon goddess had blessed the half ogre half orc to continue living in this world as a being full of savagery and nobility who would sacrifice anything to help bring an end to the force that had corrupted the wild animals. However, Jah’rakal kept his thoughts to himself and there was only the sound of breathing as the two of them ran through the dark forest.

The Sentinel had given them a mission to destroy the ever encroaching Nevermore the Shadow Fiend, one of Lich King’s elite guards. They had travelled a mighty distance to catch their prey, and as Jah’rakal  saw the trees thinning, he knew they had reached their ambush position. Jah’rakal grasped a branch and pulled it back, peering through the leaves to see the tall, floating , demonic  being seemingly covered in a dark, tar-like armor. Even at a distance of fifty feet, the Shadow Fiend was emanating a fearsome aura that chilled Jah’rakal to his bones.

“Be ready,” whispered Rexxar’s rumbling voice from the darkness beside him. “Our opponent is a strong one. Focus.” Jah’rakal was shivering, and Rexxar knew it. Jah’rakal’s grip on his axes tightened.

“I am ready,” Jah’rakal told him.

Rexxar raised his head, and Jah’rakal noticed for the first time that there was a golden mask upon his Face. It flashed bright red for a moment, and the Beastmaster gave a pained cry. But before Jah’rakal could ask what had happened, his cry turned into a deafening, terrifying roar that echoed forward at the Fiend. Jah’rakal saw his armor strip away as the howl hit him, and knew this was the moment they had been waiting for – he and Rexxar ran forward as their foe turned to face them.

“Fools!” he screamed. “Death will not be the end of me!”

Nevermore waved his demonic arm in all directions; darkness swirled and formed rapidly around his body. Jah’rakal felt cold air blasted from Nevermore and closed his eyes instinctively. When he opened them, he saw huge, linear moving orbs of darkness that flew swiftly, ominously, towards him. Jah’rakal steeled himself and tensed his body but nothing could have prepared him for the sheer number of tormented souls that attacked his skin and muscles as the lines of orbs blasted him.

But the Fiend’s Requiem of Souls did not end there. Jah’rakal watched in horror as the linear line of orbs floated towards the already exhausted Rexxar, striking him with multiple waves of darkness and fear before dissipating. Jah’rakal closed his eyes and counted eight waves of unbearable, agonizing souls attacking his body.

Jah’rakal opened his eyes. His right arm was so stiff he could barely move it, and his left arm and both legs were paralyzed entirely. He looked forward to see Rexxar lunge forward and throw his oversized blades at the Fiend, before collapsing onto the earth.

He endured the same assault that I did, but he can still fight? Gritting his teeth, he roared and threw numerous axes at the Fiend, channeling his pain into the attack. The axes struck the Fiend and littered him full of axes; he gave a dreadful cry as the fiend crumbled entirely before sinking into the soil. Nothing of him remained but a layer of decay and rot on the ground above which he had died.

Their opponent vanquished to the abyss, Jah’rakal stiffly made his way to the wounded Rexxar and helped him stand.

“You did well,” she said, his voice was but a whisper. Jah’rakal could tell he was in pain.

“Go back to the stronghold,” he said. “You need rest. I shall stay here; I can still fight.”

“My Mask of Madness,” he said, raising his hand to reveal the golden mask. It was decorated with a carved lion. “It seems that using it was a risky move. But it allowed me to sacrifice some of my life force for the magical power necessary to defeat our foe. One cannot gain anything without sacrificing something in return. I shall return to the Stronghold  for now, and we shall vanquish our foes together later.”

Jah’rakal  watched Rexxar walk into the shadows – and so he did not see the shadow creep at him from the trees. He felt it tear into his back but before he could even roar in pain the sky filled his vision and spiked tendrils tore into his flesh.

Rexxar turned around at the sound of Jah’rakal ’s pained roars. He raised his hand and again the Mask of Madness flashed red, and he felt it draw from the last of his life force.

Jah’rakal was turning and swinging his axes at the blur that was weaving side to side, but it moved far too fast to hit, and a metal blur slashed again and again at his flesh – but suddenly it stopped. He fell to his knees, bleeding heavily at his chest, back and shoulders. He looked around and saw that his opponent had moved – and realized that Rexxar had charged him, pounding him into the earth.

Jah’rakal turned and saw the hideous arachnid form of Anub’arak, the Nerubian Assassin;   His two main claws, lined with metal, were dripping a dark substance, and strapped to his chest a demonic horn with a skull on the end. He had the Beastmaster pinned to the ground with what could only be called his foot, and he gave a triumphant laugh.

“How delightful it is that I get to kill you." There was hunger in Anub’arak’s voice; he was licking his lips. "Your resistance is admirable, but in the end, futile.”

Rexxar was tossed to the side like leaves in the wind as Anub’arak’s vicious metal-lined claws cleaved into his bleeding body.

“NOOOOOO!”
